I realized his outlook isn’t just inspiring for kids, it’s a masterclass for all of us. My Midlife Wellness Upgrade: What I’ve Learned (and Lived)

Adaptogens (Started at 35)
Balances hormones, calms stress, and boosts dopamine for patience and a more balanced nervous system.

🧪 Dutch Test + Stool Testing (Started at 36)
After my second child, something felt off.
I dug deeper and found nutritional deficiencies, gut issues, and hormonal imbalances most doctors don’t check (even a gastroenterologist never once looked for my son too).
Data changed the game. I was able to focus on what truly needed to be worked on.

📊 Blood Sugar Tracking (Started at 42)
The signs were subtle:

  • More hot at night
  • Waking up at 3AM
  • Frequent mommy brain moments (constant episode of a lost phone at home)
  • Estrogen belly pooch out of nowhere

I threw on a CGM and saw my old "safe" foods were now spiking me.
I created a quarterly check-in system to track my body in real time. I discovered how to get into fat burning mode & shifted back into place with new food pairing habits.

🏋️‍♀️ Weight Training (1x/wk at 35, 2x/wk at 43, 3x/wk at 44)
I wish I started sooner but I was always nervous to bulk up. Once I found a study showing our bodies age in buckets — especially at 44 and 60, muscle became my non-negotiable.
Why? Because more muscle = better blood sugar regulation = more vitality.

💊 Hormone Support (Started at 45)
Dismissed at my annual for not having symptoms like hot flashes or night sweats.
My mental clarity was slipping. My hair was falling out. Doctors shrugged it off and said manage my stress better and I didn't need hormones yet.

But my Dutch Test and my intuition said otherwise. I knew this was an outdated view due to a lack of training in a broken system for women. I wanted to support my body before I officially hit a wall. So I found a longevity doctor who formulated vaginal estrogen + progesterone — more absorption with less fuss.
